What is Minor’s Counsel?
Minor’s counsel is an attorney who is appointed by the court to represent the children’s interest. Minor’s counsel has to be trained and complete certain requirements as set out in the Family Code.
Minor’s counsel will normally make recommendations regarding custody, visitation, school, and health issues as they relate to the minor children. Minor’s counsel can interview the children and then report to the court as to their statements and desires.
